Florida Citizens for Social Reform (FCSR) is a non-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization founded in 2004 by individuals concerned with the potential for escalating social unrest caused by inadequate life skills among various population groups within the state of Florida and our nation.
We believe that America is the greatest nation on earth and that our basic principles as outlined by the founding fathers have given rise to a nation of freedom and opportunity. However, we believe that certain social ills, if not effectively addressed, will drain public funds and cause the passage of more onerous laws which will erode our basic freedoms. For example, societies in which a large percentage of its citizens are functionally illiterate, addicted to drugs and morally corrupt will not likely last.
FCSR therefore advocates for improvements in public policy and the implementation of effective programs which are designed to reduce dependency and increase competence and participation.
FCSR seeks to unite like-minded individuals and groups to take action. We believe that public policy should support social programs that produce measurable results. We also believe that social betterment programs should be an investment in an individual and not simply a handout.
To that end, we support activities and individuals that empower a person to succeed in life. Individuals who are receiving state support should also earn self-respect and a skill. Success should be defined by something other than simply attendance or participation in a program.
We also encourage citizens to actively participate in the political process and educate them on how to do so. We believe it is our responsibility as citizens to take an active role in our communities and to support well-intentioned policy makers and administrators in their mission to raise the quality of life for all citizens.
We also support other groups which seek to defend and protect the human rights and constitutional protections of citizens.
Through education, forums, flyers, our website, events, lobby efforts and communications, FCSR seeks to influence public policy to create a better quality of life for us all.
FCSR is a non-profit social welfare organization organized under IRS 501(c) (4). Pursuant to IRS regulations, donations made to FCSR for membership or other purposes are not deductible as charitable contributions.
